They appear to be bleached. What are your water parameters and what kind of lighting do you have them under? Was it that white when you purchased it? Is that maroon hosting it? How long has your tank been running? Usually splitting is not a good thing and is done because of bad water chemistry or not enough lighting or being bothered as a way to keep itself from dying out. Ultimately, it isn't very happy and feels threatened. Sorry for all the questions but answering them may help determining what is going on with your nems.

Thanks for the reply, water parameters are fine, yes color is what it was when I purchased it however its being tossed around now that maybe it's not a bubble tip . I'm attaching another closer pic of it now
