hes bout 3in in my 90, ive been told they do bettr in reefs by requiem so my fowlrs gonna be a reef i guess

better in reefs?.. i was led to believe they were a hit or miss at being reef safe?, kinda like angels

CB's are the most reef safe of the butterflies they can do some damage but very infrequently compared to other butterflies

seattle always use to give fairly bad advice (yellow tangs in 55gals, 4 large agg triggers in a 70 is fine, etc) but he said the cbbf is one of the most reef safe butterflys, i guess he was rite

I use to have one in my reef and he didnt do any damage. He would pick at the rocks though and eat the critters inside. Nice looking fish though

They only do better in reefs because there is more life on the rocks for them to pick at. They eat aipstasia and tube worms and things of that nature, while they pick minimally at corals. Unfortunately for your copperband, it does not look like there is much life on your rocks, yet.
Copperband butterflies are difficult fish to get to eat prepared foods.
A local fish store around me has had a copperband in their 300 gallon display reef tank for 10 months now and they have never seen it eat any of the food they put in the tank for the other fish.

thnk u, took quite awhile, he was at the store and they said it took them 2 wks of trying, not terribly long but hes fat and healthy, and when i tried it myself he ate. the only thing im a lil worried about is it seems he has a small lump on his dorsal fin that he keeps scaratchin, im nervous, what could this be?
