My clown trigger has a tumor looking bump?

If it is a tumor, there's not much you can do but let it run its course. On the chance that it is an internal infection, you can try treating with antibiotics, such as Maracyn Two for Saltwater fish. However, you do need an established quarantine tank to perform that treatments.

Is he eating/acting strange? How long did it take to get to that size? I agree with Beth that you should move him to an establised HT and treat with antibiotics. If you do not have one, beth has a good thread in the archived files about setting one up.
I'm not a betting man, but if it came up quickly I would bet it is infection versus tumor.

The other thread implies somewhat gradual, but more so in the past few days. And he's still eating, which tells me, its more likely a tumor, perhaps even benign. It may be some kind of abscess.

Beth..I have never had a Trigger. Since they have a 'beak' are they more prone to abcesses/impactions that other 'beakless' fish? Just wondering if they are like birds that will abcess sometimes. Thanks Al

I've never done aggressive fish myself, though I have seriously played with the idea of a tank suitable for pufferfish. I think you have a good point there, and it stands to reason because the fish still exhibits decent eating and normal behavior its likely not something that is bothering him, but may once the size of the tumor overwhelms.
