My colt coral is gonna croak

I need some ideas on how to possibly save my colt coral. It is all shrunk down. Not shrunk down like normal at night or after amove. It is sick. It has all kinds of clear bubbles like water blisters on it and about half of it is all dark compared to the other half which looks normal in color.
My nitrates are about 20 but I am 99% certian this is not the problem. All my other corals including my other colt are fine. I have taken steps to lower nitrates.
My LFS suggested a malachite green dip. He is at a loss about it and thinks it may be some bacterial infection. He is very knoledgable and has about 20 years or so in salt water. But he says he has never seen or heard of such a thing.
Any other suggestions?? I would do just about anything right about now to save it cause it cant get much worse than it already is.
If it is a bacterial infection could it spread to my other corals?? The LFS guy thinks not.

I don't know much about coral disease. Have you posted the problem over in the Reef Forum? If not, then you should.
Perhaps you should try to cut the bad section at this point to try to save the rest. I'd suggest that you ask one of the reefers who are familiar with propagation. I know Adrian does this.
