What kind of crab is it? I had one that was supposed to be "reef safe" and it ate my pricy coral down to the base.

My crabs actually like those green cubes called Formula 2 by ocean nutrition. They dont fall apart and the fish like them too. I have also used the seaweed sheets, but they are messy and unless eaten quick they start flowing around in the tank and clog your stuff depending on how much current you have. My clowns, damsels, and fox face also like the cubes but wont touch the sheets
I read somewhere that the emerald crabs can start nibbling on other stuff if not well fed.

My emerald will take the sheet stuff from my hand he enjoys it. But if he gets to big a piece it does float around the tank and sticks to your power heads. Nothing else in my tank will eat it.
On the subject of your zoos how did they look before that? Could be they were dying, and the crab was doing what crabs do...... scavenge. You can say anything you like about what a crab is going to eat, but when it comes right down to it they are oppertunistic omnivores.

Yeah, that could definately have been a possibility. I've never seen any of my emerald crabs eat a live coral before.
