My diy 14 gal sump

Here are some links for pics of a sump I made for my 37 gal fowlr using a 14 gallon glass tank.
The overflow from my DT goes into the top of a modified hang on power filter. Obviously, the pump in the PF is not used.
The flow from the PF hits a bio-cartridge mounted in a slanted plexi panel. This adds some extra bio filtering as well as helping quiet the sound of the water as it pours into the sump.
I wanted to use the 14 gal tank because it met my space requirements, as well as being tall enough to hang my Aqua C Remora skimmer on.
The water goes through the bubble baffles(plexi panels) where it is returned to the DT using a ViaAqua 2600 pump. The system has been running for a couple of days now and seems to be perfectly balanced with no adjustments required and zero bubbles in the DT.
This is my first attempt at building a sump and I must say I am really pleased with how it turned out and how well it works! Comments and/or questions welcomed.

Hey nice work! Where did you get the blueprints to do this? I have been trying to find some online sites that show exactly what to do but have not found anything worthwhile.

Hey, thanks! I didn't actually use any existing design. I just studied other designs and general sump operation & came up with this design based on my personal requirements. The great thing about designing a sump is that there is no one set design. You can tailor it to your own specific needs & desires.
