My Dorm 5.5 gallon!

I have this 5.5g on my desk at my dorm. It has 2 clowns in it and a sexy shrimp (just lost the other 2 :( ). As far as coral, it has several zoanthid frags, some cool mushrooms, and I'm trying to collect some LPS for it. My friend is trying to get some ricordea this weekend, so hopefully I'll be finding a place to fit those as well. I have 40 watts of PC over it and I'm just using a cheapo filter for flow. So here are some pictures of it, enjoy!

Excellent looking 5.5, Wish my 10 gal look that good. and NYCBOB - looks more like stings from the coral. Other corals can sting clowns i believe. I am not abosolute cause i'm new to this but what i have read says that they can get stung by other corals and have these black marks. bECause i have 2 true percs and they seem to get these black marks as well but nothing like ick, Just looks like burn marks or something.

Tank looks great, lets hope it doesnt get too busy with all those different zoa frags in there. Let us know if the brain on the sandbed dies or not cuz Im interested to see if itll live under 40 watts.

yes, the black on the clowns are from them trying to host multiple corals. they are sting marks and they should eventually fade away. and why wouldn't the brain survive under 40 watts? I've had it since August and it has grown and colored up amazingly! It was half white when I got it. I'm upgrading to a 16 bowfront over the break so I can have more room for my zoas. I like busy tanks full with coral.

Oh wow thats a good sign. Most of the time brains require T5s or MH lighting to do well.

i have never heard that. i have seen plenty of brains thrive under PCs. i'm getting T-5s anyways for the 16.

It is a 5.5g, if it was any bigger I wouldn't be able to fit anything else on the desk! I bought it from the store! The first two pics are top down shots, I think they look pretty cool! Thanks!

Its just an open brain. I really like the colors though. For comparison, heres what it looked like when I first bought it. Its amazing what a healthy tank and feeding can do for them!

And heres the whole tank when I first started it
