I have been reading about the problem of " salt creep" on various posts and I have been trying an experiment for the last Seven days and it seems to be working! After I cleaned my tank glass I put some High Quality car wax on the glass and buffed it with a soft cloth, It seems that the wax will not let the salt take hold, the water just runs off.
I have a glass tank, I don't know if you would want to do it on an Acrylic tank!?!
The other thing I have noticed is the glass looks a LOT cleaner than it ever has before and seems to stay cleaner.
My friend has a product the is especially made for repelling water from glass (air plane windshields) I'm going to try it on one side of my tank and car wax on the other and will report the results in one more week.
Necessity is the Mother of invention.
