My feather duster split

OK, this was a feather duster with one crown, it now has two. I'm assuming this is ok and I think looks very cool. Any ideas why it would do this? I've had him for about two weeks now (I think) and he's been very nocturnal, wouldn't come out during the day, but now he's out all the time. Maybe that's why he was inside for so long, he was making another crown.

perfectly normal looks great.

I've had mine toss its crow then grow back a double ring. (I stressed it when moving my old tank about a year ago.)
