My first death...a mystery coral HELP!!!!

Hi all. I have leanred much from these forums and have had a good run so far without (knocking on wood) killing anything...until now. About a week ago I went to LFS and purchased "watermelon ricordea" for 49.99. I put it in my tank thinking it would be easy to maintain as I have other colors of ricordea in my tank. I noticed that it was a bit different than my other...Specifically, it extended its "middle" out at night. Well long story short I woke up yesterday to one portion of the "mushroom" stringy and disintegrating. I suctioned and behind it was a hard skeleton!! What is this? How do I care for it? I still have a shot at trying to keep the other portion alive, but I have no idea what type of coral it is?????

Lobophyllia.
Pretty easy to keep as far as hard corals are concerned. Low to moderate light and flow have worked for me. Feed it mysis every so often too.
Ricordea? The skeleton didn't give them a clue?

Thanks! It was a bunch of teenagers minding the store when I was in. I am very new at this. There were a ton of different things in a large tank and there was a list written in white right on the tank. I asked "what is that?" and they looked at the writing on the tank and probably picked the wrong one. I didn't notice the skeleton until it died. Thanks so much or your help!!!

+1 with red or orange lobo. likes low to medium light with low flow. not the easiest coral to keep when compare to softies.
