My tank is a 37 gallon tall cube with a 10 gallon above tank refugium. i have my eheim canister filter taking water from my main tank and moving it up to my refugium where it is gravity fed back to the main tank. i have a UV light on the return from the canister filter. i have a coralife super skimmer 65 on my above tank refugium. above my main tank i have a floresent strip light and all the way on top of my system i have a metal halide system shining through both tanks .
in my refugium i have cheato and i have about 10 pounds of live rock rubble filling the return section.
i have about 40 pounds of live rock in my main tank and 20 pounds of sand.

why do you have such a nice light on your refugium? I doubt much of the light makes it to the 37 below where you want it to be

Might i suggest you put the fuge below the tank, then get eggcrate to cover the tank. Then put the light on that? other than that it looks great!
Merry Christmas!

the mh is on the fuge because i have to do things slowely cause of $$$$. sooner or later when i get more $ i plan on either upgrading to a 90 or buying a pump so i can put the fuge on the floor. havnt decided yet.
obviously i would prefer to get the 90 with a 35 fuge underneath but i keep delaying the purchase to try and avoid an impulse buy.
until then i just have to deal with what i have as the above tank fuge is better then none at all.

I suggest getting bigger than a 90 when u upgrade. I started this wonderfull hobby about 7 months ago and I am so ready to upgrade to atleast double my 72 bowfront. This hobby can be so addicting.

Looks good. IF you get an 8' 2x4 you could cut it or have Home depot cut it so you could have 2 legs coming up the back and a section cross-braced on top of them and you could slide the top tank back far enough to switch the lights. Also you could drain the fuge into a bucket or two and paint the bottom and sides to keep light spill-over contained. On the way to a nice working, simple set-up.

i spun the top tank around and brought it to the front so that i could switch the lights. i made a little frame out of 2X2 wood so that the MH is above the main section of the tank

money is a little tight right now but when things brighten up i plan on making an PCV overflow and making a sump. that way i can get full use of my lights
