I've read that when you first get your coral you should start them on the sand bed and slowly move them up to where you want them.
I have a 12 gal. tank and was wondering if it is alright to put them right on the rock I want them on or if I should let them sit on the floor for a while.
I would aclimate them first of course. But I'm not sure if it makes a difference where my tank isn't that deep.

What type of lighting do you have? Generally they could stay closed up for a couple days while they acclimate to your tank anyways but generally speaking, yes starting lower is always a safe bet with corals and move them up over the course of a week or two.

I have c.f.
So should I leave them on the bottom until they open up? And then move them to the rock? It's not MUCH higher. Probably only 5" or so.
