My gobie

I was wanting to know if there is anything I can do to stop my percula clown from picking on my firegoby. My percula clown picks on every fish we put into the tank for some reason. Should I add another fish to the tank to make the clown stop that way I have two new fish instead of one to add to the tank.

the regular fire fish prefer to be in pairs i would get another one, also how big is your tank, rearrangeing might help but clowns are aggressive little guys

i would pick between the two, i had a clarkii and he picked on everything. I moved the rocks around and everything, but unless you have large tank(longer) i don't think it will stop, and your firefish may get stressed and die, had it happen to my purplefirefish and firefish. Clownfish need to be in a tank with either larger fish or quick swimmers in my opinion. Had a squareback anthias and a 6line wrasse in with clarkii and he never bothered them, but the firefish he did and my sissor tail too, although i moved the sissor tail before he died! Thanks

I think another perc should help. A smaller one to make sure its a male. I notice that in pairs percs don't really bother other fish. Pretty much do their own thing.
The one you have will bully the new clown for a while. Hopefully not too long.

Sorry to intrude here, but I have a perc. clown also and he/she is a big bully, and a big pig....always trying to hog all the food. So if I get another perc. clown it might help? And how do you tell the difference between male and female? Thanks. My daughter wants the next fish to be a gobie...I don't want to have problems with the clown...he already has been chewing on smaller fish. Maybe I should trade him in???
