my GSP is like grass. other people's GSP ive seen looks like little flowers, the polyps lay flat against the rock and have the little white centers. mine are long and flowey and have no white centers. is it just a different kind? different lighting? anything?

different kind. Some of them look like little flowerss like you said, some grow in thick mats, and some look like long grass. I actually like the grassy ones more than my flower ones.
Your all over the boards tonight alex, haha

It's ok, I won't hold it against you.
(I have about 4 ugly brown polyps of GSP in my tank - it's one thing that Won't grow!)

hmm, ohk. i wonder if anyone at my reef club will trade me for the different kind. mine is completely covering a 1/2 lb chunk of LR, so ive got enough for a couple decently sized frags.

I have 3 different kinds. The really long grassy kind. the short thick carpet kind and a super neon metallic green flowery kind that actually came as a tiny speck of a hitchhiker and is now about to take over the zoos on the rock I need to chisel them off.

when I went to my LFS the "grassy" GSP caught my eye, well when he was picking it out i didn't notice that he got the wrong one. So now i have the "flower" GSP.

Most likely they will. Neon green GSP grows fast and is often trimmed back to keep it in check. I just traded a chunk for a hairy mushroom so I wouldn't have to toss it out. I'm about to cut off some more to keep it from spreading to nearby rocks. If you were closer, I'd just give you some.
