My Halloween Crab

Hi everyone. I've been reading the forums for about a week now, and I'd like to thank everyone for the information flow. I just set up my tank last week, and now I'm trying to figure out what the heck I'm doing :). Its a 24 gallon aquapod with sunpod lighting cycled it with live rock and live sand (planning on a reef), and added one of the new tiny little protein skimmers. After it cycled, and my levels went to zero (or pretty close) I put some critters in the tank. 10 snails, 10 burgundy hermit crabs, 2 peppermint shrimp, one clownfish, and this halloween crab.
For each critter, I did the drip method for acclimating them, and put them in the tank yesterday. Everyone seems relatively happy except for the halloween crab. He hasn't come out. Occasionally, I'll see the glint of a red leg near the shell opening, but that's it. Neither the shell nor the crab in the shell seem to have moved much. The burgundy crabs have cleaned his shell, a snail is hanging out on it (they told me the snails will clean the glass, but none of them have gotten so far as the glass yet...go figure) but the crab is NOT coming out.
Should I be worried?

This impatient newbie syndrome is really annoying at times. Given the small slit in the shell he's in, I was wondering how I would know if he HAD died. This afternoon I guess he got hungry and decided to poke his little face out. He still hasn't moved from his spot. Boy will that snail riding on his back be surprised when he does :).

But I had seen them in the wild, just didn't know what they were called. I found a picture of one here: *Link Removed* but bought him from my LFS which really seems to actually be a good LFS in that they knew I was a rank newbie and could have tried to sell me all kinds of cruft, but instead have been very generous about what to buy and what to stay away from. Apparently, the Halloween Crab is actually a Halloween Hermit Crab and there is a Halloween Crab who is not a hermit crab that is a different kind of critter altogether. This one's scientific name is Ciliopagurus Strigatus.
