my hypo treatment

tang came down with ich, put him in Q tank last night. Tonight SG at 1.015- fish is breathing hard, is this normal?
Tomorrow night ill have it down to 1.009- is there any variance to this number, all i have is a hydrometer and i think it only goes down to 1.010?
Im really not thinking hes going to make it though

Did you just set up the hospital tank? Is it a cycled tank? If there are any ammonia or nitrite readings, then you are going to have problems.
The ich itself could be causing stress and labored breathing. However, to be on the safe side, reduce the salinity a bit more slowly. Be sure to reduce in small increaments. Better to do many small incremental changes in SG rather than large, but fewer water change outs.
