My lion fish can't open its mouth

HI All,

Seeking help for my lionfish. 4 weeks ago he smacked his mouth on the glass after going for a prawn. Since then he has been unable to open his mouth. He still goes for the food but mouth don't seem to open.

Read some old post back in 2007 and 08 re couple of members who had similar issues.

Can anyone help me with what I should and shouldn't do?

Its obviously dislocated, has anyone had a similar experience and got the lion out and manipulated its jaws to put back into place? Thanks in advance

That's not a great situation at all. Let me see what I can find out about the issue and get back to you.

Manipulating the mouth is risky for you and the fish. I would wait a few more days and see if it starts to sort itself out. The issue may just be swelling and the jaw may regain function after the inflamed tissue calms down. Keep us posted.
