Made the noob mistake of aquascaping with fake plants and decor before finding out about LR. I just purchased 42.5 lbs of LR for my 42 gal bowfront. The first pic is the before picture with the fake stuff, and the following have my LR. I only have damsels now, but I'm pretty excited to get my 1st "real" fish. I also purchased my 1st hermit crabs today, and I'm thrilled to say that "I have crabs" LOL. It's not the most impressive tank I've ever seen, but I'm pretty proud of it

Looks alot better.
Did you cycle the tank before adding anything? I am thinking not as you only had fake stuff.
What about now? Did you get the rock shipped in or pick it up locally? No flaming, just trying to help. Barry

Just what I was thinking. Also, did you let the rocks sit in another container of saltwater to be certain that there was no dieoff? Tank looks great though!!!

Thanks for the comments! I purchased the LR from a LFS. The tank has been up and running since thanksgiving, so yes it did cycle already. I"m aware that the introduction of so much LR at one time may cause the tank to re-cycle. So I'm monitoring all my levels for a few weeks (at least) to make sure it's good before I add my "real fish."
