ok, so its not really 600 gallons! and the waterchanges can be done with a plastic cup full of water!

but the store had them on sale for $10 and it came with the flourescent light (7watts for the one gallon tank) and the hang on filter. i put about 2 pounds of live rock and about 3 pounds of live sand in there from my refugium as well as water from my sump. the rock came from my curing tub and im not too sure if it was ready but the sand and water should do it just fine. im thinkin bout maybe a panda goby and use it to breed food for the main tank. i am thinking instant cycle!
what do you all think?

I see a metal halide upgrade candidate.

Hey, why not splurge and go with a 250 watt HQI then add some PC actinics. I think you could put a long spine urchin in there too... .

better set up an auto topoff as well cause with the evaporation from the halides it'll be bone dry when you get home from work

i picked up another one a little while ago and have it setup already as well. another 2 inch sandbed and a few pounds of live rock and some water from the sump again.
i had gotten a coralife 50/50 10watt bulb that i was going to wire in to the first one but returned it which paid for this one. cant beat a complete setup for 9.99 plus tax!
if they came with a clear bottom i would get another to use as a viewing box
it may be a little hard to find the replacement 7watt bulb though but i will check around on the internet for that and should be able to come up with something with a reasonable price but it will probably cost more then the whole tank did just to get one. its got a 2 prong connection

You should convert it to a 150watt metal halides and put a shark inside instead of a panda goby and couple of anemones. ....lol..

you might need one of those batman searchlights hooked up to a nuclear power plant to light that bad boy up :p
