No sand just bare bottom. I'm thinking now that I should have put white board down (whatever it's called) to give it a more natural look.
I plan on sps in the near future so the more turnover the better. Tuesday I'm adding a few more creatures (cleanup crew and a fish or 2) before I go nuts with corals.

You mean he doesn't want a sand storm? I missed that, so I believe you are right. I kind of wish I didn't have sand in my tank at times, makes it hard to direct the powerheads the way I want.

Very nice tank and setup! But cycle with fish? Ouch!

I think you still have time to add the starboard before you start adding more fish and corals. Looks like you still havent aquascaped, so Id take that opportunity to add the starboard. Last thing you want is the bottom glass to break if something were to fall over.
Beautiful tank and good luck!

actually its good, often better not to do sand with sps because with sand nitrates build up in it nd we all know sps hate that, also more flow can be added to the tank and not have a sand storm in it like az said. not to impose on this thread but i wonder if you put like idk some material that has no copper but has the brightness of aluminum foil at the bottom of the tank and have sps in it if you would see a more substantial growth rate cuz the light would be reflected and hit the sps more than already hmm just a random thought. be sure to upgrade those lights, i would suggest 2 250watt aquamedic hailides that hang or phoneix. good luck with it
