Here's some pics of the new brain I got!!!
As far as I know, it is a Platygyra daedala
but if you have better information that would indicate otherwise, I'd love to know.

I want to put it a little bit higher, but haven't got any extra rock yet to raise it. I'll have to play with the placement for a bit. Probably wait and see how it does here. Then determine how much higher to put it.

The shipping was great, no problems. They said it would be 8 inches, it's like 8 and a 1/4... Looks perfect except for one edge that has a little skeleton showing. Looks like it may have been hit with something, but it's only the size of a dime (if that big)...
As far as pics with/without actinics, I have 4 bulbs (2 actinic/2 aquasun) and they all come off the one ballast, and I don't have 2 aquasuns to fill in the two spots with to make em all non-actinic.
I'm guessing you were thinking it was under halide, but no, I'm hoping my 440w VHO will work, no one seemed to think it was crazy.. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. That's the reason I want to move it up about 7/8 inches, so it will be in the top half of the tank.
But as far as the company goes, there are no complaints. Perfect service; I called a few times to get some info on it, and they were more than happy to answer all of my questions. They packed it great. It had 6 bags, and two layers of newspaper inbetween two sets of the bags. Lots of water (and as you know, price includes shipping except for the 10$ handling). The whole plastic bag part was then put in a foam box packed full with peanuts.
Top-notch.

It's actually starting to look brighter now that it has been in the tank for a bit longer. The contrast in the ridges is much more.. Now I just have to find a way to raise it up closer to the lights.
Any idea on how far away from another coral the brain should be as to not have it attack it?
I'm not worried about the xenia, so I was thinking of putting it up in the left hand corner on top of those rocks. That would be a convenient location for feeding it too. Wouldn't have to reach too far.
