Do these guys need to be in the sand or in the rock work where he is now?
His foot is HUGE and if he needs to be in the sand I can move him.

If it wants to it will move to where it feels comfy .

Capets generally like the sand. best to place it there at first, but I would not recomend trying to move yours now if its already attached...They have a reputation for staying put once settled for a long time and then all of a sudden for no apparent reason, up and move ....
I have seen them in tanks nearly 3 foot wide ( the anemone, the tanks were much larger )

keep in mind that there are a few different species of "carpet anemones" Only one really prefers the sand, and that would be the hadoni . The mertensi is almost always found on a rock, and the gigantea is almost always attached to a rock, but at the rock/sand interface.
Only the mertensi will come close to 3' (and thats in the ocean)
the hadoni usually maxes out at 24-28"
the gigantea usually maxes out at about 20"
Nice looking hadoni

Rod - thanks for the details! I really like the looks of this anemone. It is a nice blue/green color and it has a lot of personality. When I touch it's foot the entier anemone flexes and pulls together. It is really cool. It is better than all the other anemones that I have (RBTA, LTA, Sebae).

Not that I wish to argue with what others have said...but I was really refering to ccambell's S. haddoni and his questions and answers. I mentioned the sand because he asked and because of where his was at...so that he can expect it to move because he was also conserned about that too..I suggested that he not move it himself....he asked how big they get and I have seen them the size I said...they can and some do get 30+ inches, not saying his will...but now he knows.
BTW, propper spelling of proper names are best so people can do proper research ( ie S. mertensii
and above )
