what size is your tank and what kind of lighting do you have? I want to get one, but I have a 12 gal. and I've heard you need MH for them to keep their bright color.
That is a pretty one!!

I have a 12 gallon cube with a 150 watt MH about 8 inches over the top. The temp stays between 82-83 degrees and there have been no problems yet. I talked to an expert and he said MH is almost a must for clams. He told me not to worry about the clam outgrowing the tank for a few years.

So if they're 8" above the top, you don't have a lid on your tank? Is it open?

yes, i took the lid off and it hangs perfectly over the cube. i will try to post a pic soon.
