My New Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish

I recently got a fuzzy dwarf lionfish and i was wondering as 2 its gender. I heard that 4-6 stripes on the fins means girl, while 6-8 means guy. Is this true and how many of the stripes should you count? Do you count the half formed ones? Do more stipes appear as the dwarf ages?

Yes, though it seems easy from the bands, adult males also have larger heads along with longer pectoral fins. No, more will appear with age, you can have a male and female together just avoid two males.
