My New Hermit Crabs, Safe Or Not?

Hi people im new to the forums. Ive been dying to try to register but the activation address took like two days haha. But any how I got like 5 Hermit Crabs from the Indian River and im not really sure if there safe for my tank or not. There sort of a sandy color and has a lil blue in them. I cant take any pics at the moment cause the camera dosent focus that good so close. But im currently setting up my 55 gallon long tank. I have a Rubbermaid sump with a Mag 5 pump a heater thats kinda old but does the job, 40 pounds of live sand and im about to go out tomorrow and buy me some live rock.
