I gots some amazing new jellyfish yesterday but unfortunately I don't know the species or home to really care for them other than the basics. I also can't post pics because my ca$era isn't working. They are dark and light blue each of the 3 a solid color and they don't have long tentacles they just have short fat ones and there really active.
Anybody have any ideas or other care specific to these? Thanks

Is it the upside down jelly? I have limited jelly knowledge but I believe all other jellies require Kreisel style tanks. I could be wrong. The initial cost of kreisel tanks has stopped me from pursuing the matter anymore.

I am going to nag you about not doing your research FIRST

Hey, I see you're from Long Island, did you buy them from Aqua Hut? If so they're not Upside Down Jellyfish. I'll get you an ID in a minute.
And, next time, PLEASE RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY! Jellyfish are very, very, very hard to care for.

nag away lol. I know jellys need a circular tank but!... in this instance I saw that they were extremley active and really didnt get stuck in any live rock or the corners of the tank in the hour I watched them. Yes they are from aqua hut
and its the first time ive seen them within years of going there and also whenever I go to the aquarium and see that species I just fall in love lol. Right now 2 of them are doing amazingly but one unfortunatley, the dark blue one, is not. I placed him in a bucket for now and he is pupming downward, also his chubby tentacles are shriveled and retracted. kinda dont know what to do for him at this point
hope its not too late...

Honestly, I have no idea how to take care of them, most people don't. They were very active because they had just gotten them in. I'm pretty sure you were in there when I was. Chris (the blonde haired kid with HUGE plugs in his ears) was the one helping you, I believe, and fed you a bunch of BS about how they always die in shipping and these were doing really well. He really doesn't know what he's talking about. If you're buying something in Aqua Hut and you're not sure about how to care for them, ask for Don or Tony. Chris is a moron (sorry, but he's terrible).
Google image search blue blubbers, tell me if that's what you have, I'm pretty sure that's what Tony said they were.
They're probably going to die to be completely honest with you.

you answered while I wrote my other comment. I'll try to get you some quick info on them if you can't find any, just PM me.
BTW, did you buy them Friday night? I was the girl carrying the tupperware container and asked Chris to test my water, LOL.

Oh thank goodness that wasn't you, that guy seemed like he didn't know anything! LOL
Anyways, like I said, if you can't find any info on them, just PM me.
Are you a member of ManhattanReefs?

No I am not a member but would absolutley love to be haha. Sounds prestigious. Also I no longer own a reef/ seahorse tank thanks to my tank heating up to a healthy 95 degrees while I was on vaccacion... And I am only 16 if there happens to be an age limit on the club haha.
I actually was there Saturday afternoon and bought all 3 of the healthy jellys. The owner, don? Started laughing because he knew I was goin to go for those because I get all of the weirdest things lol.
I still can't get any info on them except for how they taste and how the are a nuisances to Australian fisherman but I am on my bb or itouch as of now and can't really pm so well so I would appreciate it if you pmed me.
Thanks

oh and a little update on my blue guy. I took him out of the bucket and placed him in a tuppaware container in the tank (with holes in it of corse, course, coarse?) and he seemed to really perk up and start swimming some more so hopefully he will be able to swim around in the tank tommorow.

^ course...
you should search for a thread on here regarding a jelly tank. i think it was coral keeper, but if i'm wrong, i apologize. the tank looked as if it would work well for jelly fish.

Yea I have seen it. It looks like a nice set up but I don't think I really need to go to that extreme with these guys... They seem to hold there own for now.

If you have the Blue Blubber Jellyfish, you might as well give them back and get some store credit. I have experience in keeping jellyfish and the Blue Blubber Jellyfish are EXTREMELY hard to care for and even the most experienced jellyfish keeper can't keep them alive for long. Yours probably won't last past a month or 2. You need a Kreisel tank ASAP. They won't last in a regular tank for very long at all. Kreisel tanks are VERY expensive as well. The only jellyfish that will be fine in a regular box tank is the Upside Down Jellyfish and they are very easy to keep as far as jellyfish go.

You need a much better tank for your jellyfish than I had. lol

Also, your Blue Blubber Jellyfish are photosynthetic and need lighting like corals. You need very strong lights such as T-5s or MH's.

Yup. Right now I have some ho t-5s on it and they seem to be doing okay for now
I'm not really too sure how they should be acting bit I think there fine.
The dark blue one looks like it has made a full recovery actually so I'm happy.
Thanks for the info
