picked him up the other day when i went to the lfs for something else. but he was really healthy looking, and had alot of personality. i had one a long time ago, and lost him for reasons unknown. so i hope to have better luck with this one.
They are natural algae eaters so in some tanks they can survive with just feeding off the natural algae. In most of our systems that we try to keep as algae free as possible they sometimes need supplemental feedings. If he looks fat and fit I wouldn't worry, if he looks skinny then you need to find something he will eat.
Mine eats anything I put in the tank... except algae sheets. Seems to me he can't chew to well so chewing off a piece of algae from the sheet is difficult for him. Formula 1 and 2 he eats like craze.
skirrbby your gf is hot!
Your LMB will take to regular food. Mine tries to eat everything in the tank.. Mainly its flake food though. They are quite the character lol.
Shnabbles thanks for the comment on my gf... that pic is to small to even show how pretty i think she is,, so here it is a lil bigger. and thanks for the comments on my fish, i think once he gets out of being so shy he will take to other foods. hes doing fine now off just the algea he finds.

All the same... but I have not heard of them referred to as a starry blenny... but a sailfin algae blenny & lawnmower blenny is the same fish.
starry blenny is another version- i have one
they are black or a dark brown with white diamonds running down their sides
and my starry blenny never had an issue eating, he loves mysis
- I have never seen my blenny eat algea in the tank though, I have seen him go after pods
My LMB has gotten to the point that he rarely eats algae, instead eats mysis shrimp, flake, anything that gets put into there.
Furstrating, given that the algae has started to come back in my tank.
O well, what can you do.
