From the pic they look like RDE. I use to have a really nice colony of em until something happened and the colony died off

Don't be too happy just yet. Though they are one of the most hardy nicknamed zoa in the hobby, they are prone to diatom infection. Raise the salinity to 1.024. That will help them open up, and by doing so fight off diatom infection.

All reef tanks should be ran at 1.025-1.027.

it's a 12 gal and I keep the salinity at 1.025
