My newest addition ... XENIA

I bought some xenia today. It is about 5-6 main stalks. Total size is about 5" across not fully extended and the longest reach about 7-8". It is really cool. My percs are unsure of it and it is quite fun to watch them around it.

and another pic. Not sure why the pictures have a green hue to them. The xenia is a pinkish brown and the water is clear with white light. Hmmm......maybe RyeBread can explain ...

Are those the pulsing variety? I love my pulsing xenia. Here's a pic of em in action. Hope you don't mind.:)

They just sway. Occasionally opening and closing. I paid $45 for them. I could EASILY have 5 big frags from them !!!

Very nice addition!!!
I added some several months ago ... just a single stalk at first has grown into a rather large colony. I've even returned a few frags to the LFS I origionally purchased it from. Some folks act like xenia will over run a reef but mine has developed in one general area and doesn't seem inclined to spread much futher. Good luck with yours...I seriously enjoy the color and movement of mine!

Cool addition. I would like to have those next inmy tank but I need to read up on them to see if they can survive in my light.

Nice Xenia Mike.
Try fiddling with the White Balance settings of your camera to see if you can't remove that green cast. Play with the flash as mentioned above as well. Good luck.

be careful wher you put them they overrun and take over.
they move by leaning over and reattaching..place them so they cabt reach anything else.
i'm cutting approximatly 300 stalks out today, if nobody in the baton rouge area wants them they will be euthanized.
check my post!!

I will agree and disagree with you LORD :D
All the sites I looked at said the Anthelia can not retract, only close the polyps. Yet min DEFINITELY retacts. Maybe it is some crossbreed
Oh, well, looks exactly like most of the anthelia pictures, but I still like it and it sure looks cool !!!
