My Prizm Skimmer

Does my prizm skimmer take salt out of the tank also? Just curious if it does.
So far it has worked great, a bunch of brown crap has been collected.

I find the best way to handle the collection cup in the Prism is to empty no less then when three fourths full. My only concern with that model is if it gets full it will go all over so when away for a few days I shut it off otherwise I check the cups contents every day. It does do a heck of a job for the money.

OK ive got a new problem now. Will adding stress coat to the tank water make the prizm skimmer fill up fast? I just added stress coat and my prizm started going crazy and filled up real quick. Before I added the stress coat, it was working fine.

Any additives to the tank will affect a skimmer. Now you know it works. :D I would try shuting it down for a little while after putting in additives or stuff like plankton to let it mix up in the tank.lol

Thanks, I appreciate all of your help, this protein skimmer concept is new to me, however it seems to be working out great.

Interesting thing with my prism is that even tho I do not shut it off when I add my trace elements or invert foods it does not react to it. It does a great job of skimming crud tho and for the money I love it. It is on my 58 full reef tank.
