My Puffer died :(

So after I found out my puffer had ich I had to go to work so I had no time to set up the qt tank etc.....The morning that I was ready I couldn't find him anywhere until I turned off the one power head and there is was- sucked up inside. I did set up the qt tank and put him in there though...the tank was set up with water from the tank the night before I found him.
I now have a new powerhead in there like my other one that does have a block thing to where no one can get sucked up...but it was too late, my puffer didn't make it through the day

I am really upset about this...he was my favorite!!!
No one else is showing any stress or signs of ich so can I just keep watching them to see if it shows up?

you really need to keep an eye on all the fish all the time.
if he came with ich it might not have had a chance to drop any in the tank but you need to watch very carefully and at the first sign qt.
just yesterday i saw some ich on two of my tangs usually they fight if off every now and then.but this morning 5 fish had some .
i have some pretty big fish in my 225 so i took out the 300 lbs of lr,2 shrimp ,mandarin,corals and put them into a 90 gallon qt i have running.
crappy part is my purple cromis must have hid in the rock cause now he made it to the 90 qt.aint no way i am taking out all that rock.
i put a trap in it to catch him but he is on his own.he dont look infected but i hope i can catch him.
sucks because my tank was looking great now look like barron waste but the fish already ate so off to start the hypo
