My Puffer is a wuss

So I have people over looking at my tank and my puffer tucks his tail to his side and hides. This happened the last couple times I've had people over. They leave and like an hour or 2 later he's back to normal.

I know its a bit unusual, but hes totally healthy so I'm not worried about it. If its me or anyone in my immediate family around hes his usual up and down the glass and rocks looking for food self. Just a funny quirk in his personality it seems so far to me if he doesn't recognize the person he gets scared.

These fish are really smart. Maybe he's tick because you aren't feeding them. My puffer would see me feed him a silverside instead of an oyster, and would go into a corner and pout. then later sneak back out eat the silverside and beg me for an oyster.

Do puffers ever actually puff up in the home aquarium? I don't see any pics of them puffed up so I was just wondering. They look hideous in normal state lol IMO.

Mines has puffed a few times. I actually managed to get a pic once... Anyways, my puffer has tucked his tail to the side a couple times. The first time it was when I got him and one of my fish picked on him. Same thing for when I upgraded and transferred him. After a 1/4 inflation, the arguement was settled on both occasions. Hope this helps!

My porc. puffer is very shy around strangers. She tucks her tail and hides when we have quests over. When I am gone for a couple weeks and have my niece come over and feed, it takes Reba about 3 to 4 days before she will come out and eat while she is watching. I have had her for 2 years, she was about 2 1/2 inch's and is now about 6 to 7 inches. One of my favorite fish.
She is also having a hard time excepting the new tank, had 150 spring a leak, and upgraded to a 210. She grew up in the 150, she is finally after being in the new tank for a month starting to be her old self.
I have seen her puff up about 3 times. Just randomly, never stays puffed for very long.

I tried usually timed feeding my puffer when I knew guests were coming. Sometimes it meant feeding everyday, sometimes it meant missing a day. All my fish got used to this and had no problems with strangers visiting the tank.
