MY PUFFER IS SICK... Please HELP!

My green spotted pufer is on the bottom of the tank breathing very rapidly. He's panting so hard, it makes me want to cry! I have Coppersafe in the tank, and bubble stones, and the salinity is right... Why is Gus Gus so sick??? It also looks like he has tail rot, because you can't see his tail anymore, it like, SHED off... Poor Gus... Someone please help!

First, copper can be lethal, especially to puffers. Second, air stones are not nearly enough for oxygen in a salt tank. Saltwater is very dense. The bubbles go straight up and do not circulate the water. Get a powerhead in there ASAP. What is your PH? What tank is this fish in, the display or a qt tank? What are you treating for? Copper is for ich, can you describe what he had before his tail looked like it was rotting off? Do you have any pictures? BTW, Welcome to the boards

Gus had velvet and I put the exact amount of Coppersafe for my 1 gallon tank in there... His tail was normal like a normal fish tail. I will upload some pictures tomorrow, because I need to go to bed. I am in college and have a mid-term tomorrow. Now I am noticing some spots on him that are wierd. They are like his normal spots, but look kind of filmy... And they aren't block. They are just like a filmy spot. And his back looks dirty. His tail is also dissapearing fast. It's just a little stump. I feel so bad for Gus I almost want to just put him out of his misery. Please help. I love my little Gus and don't want to get rid of him, but he can't be in pain like this.

Did you say you had him in a 1 gallon tank?That could have stressed him to death possible?
