My pump area and water smells fishy!

Heya folks, I have recently reset up my tank after about 6 months of inactivity and have done multiple water changes, changed the filter pad and added all the reccomended bacteria stuff, but have two problems:
1. My Nitrates are still super high
2. My pump area and water itself smells fishy
Any suggestions?

What type of filter are you running...Carbon will help with the smell and as far as the nirates beef up your water changes. BTW what about ammonia, nitrite where are they?

Can you describe the tank and its setup in detail so we can better help you?
Also, full test results would be nice.
