My Skimmer Has Yet To Collect Anything...8 months

Hello Everyone, I have a 55 gallon that has been set up for about 8 months. I used a PRO 75 wet/dry that has a skimmer built in. I check it all the time and have never seen anything collected in it's cup. The pump is working and the water swirls around in the tube will the bubbles. Could something be wrong with it?

my experience w/ a berlin h/o was...it made BIG bubbles when i did not have salt. once the salt was added, i had micro-bubbles that started the skimming process when the cycle was in process and livestock added. you did not state whether you were operating a 1)freshwater or 2) saltwater tank. <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" /> i just cleaned the H/O this morning and discovered that the venturi valve was plugged up w/ gunk. once cleaned, skimmer works great!

Please check your salinity. It maybe too low.

Check the amount of air going into the skimmer
check the cup's seal (if you don't have a good seal the bubbles will go right into the filter)
Clean the skimmer completely - mine needs a cleaning twice a month.
