Well my new sun pod just arrived and absolutely I love it! Can't believe it took me this long to upgrade. Well here are a few quick shots I just took. I've done a little changing around in the tank to make room, so don't mind the mess. Sadly I had to sell my hammer coral as it was getting way too big and actually began to look out of place.
These are with the 14k stock current bulb:

So far I really like the current bulb. I also ordered an XM 15k and will be trying that one out tomorrow to see which one I like best

The bulb will take a while to burn in and then the true color will show thru, something like 100 hours. Did you have a MH before this fixture? If not, then you'll need to light acclimate the tank to the new lights

Thanks for the info
Yeah, I have been reading up on acclimating procedures. Going from PC to HQI is quite a jump, so I'm going to definitely take it slow.
HAha, my name can be interpreted either my z is low, or my z is slow. It's my handle that I use on every forum I frequent. I pretty much just use it for everything , lol. It's derived from my car, a 93 Nissan 300zx TT.

Thanks, unfortunately those are not mine. It's just a pic I found that I really liked

Which brand bulbs come with Sunpods? Might want to consider just using the bulb for a couple of months and then switch over to the Phoenix
.
Easiest light acclimation way I've found is this:
2 hours on for a day x 2 days
3 hours on for a day x 2 days
4 hours on for a day x 1 day,
5 hours on for a day x 1 day, etc....

Congrats on the new lights. You tank looks great and the colors are fantastic. When I finally put my MHs up I felt the same way "wow, what took me so long!" A world of difference.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, means a lot.
Max, the bulb is a 14k stock current bulb that comes with the sun pod. Initially I was going to just change it out and go straight to the XM 15k right away, but I really like the looks of this one, so I might as well just save the XM for when it's time to change. Thanks for the acclimating guide.

Azfishgal, you're right, the MH makes all the difference in the world. Thanks for the kind words.
mach, thanks! I am really glad I went with the sun pod, thnx for the recommendation! This unit is the 30" single 150w HQI with a stock 14k bulb.

Nope, not one bit. I 'd imagine if they did the clam wouldn't have it and it would eventually end up killing the shrimp by crushing them.
Thanks again everyone
