many different things.... even if you suck it up, it will come back..... check the list below for some possible causes:
-old bulbs
-poor water conditions
-over feeding
-tank right in a window
-ect.
The first two are the biggest, and the third is often a cause of the second.

Thats funny that you say you are burnt out. when i first bought my tank i loved it but i thought for sure that within a month id get bored of it and nt take care f it. Well 3 months later im just as into it as i was the first day, probably more. i love comin home to my tank or just being bored and workin on the tank or lookin at it. Its relaxing

Well i think it's from the bad water quality..i has other polyps that died as did most of that torch coral. It's actually dying on it's own if you notice the orange area's around the outside. I cleaned out all my equiptment and done a few waterchanges to fix the water quality. It's already making a huge difference. as for the gramma...he kinda sucks..he messed with everything that was in the tank till i got the Trigger now he's scared of everything...it's great

what kind of lighting do you have, from my experience torch corals are hard to care for and need intense lighting.

Well first things that I noticed was you are not getting good advice from the lfs. I dont think a niger in a reef is advisable. I agree that the gamma will become lunch to the lion.
What are your water conditions???
Are you using r/o d/i water??
What are your tank specs, and lighting??
What is your long term plan for this tank??

No trigger is ALWAYS reef safe. There are ALWAYS oddballs out there. Pinktails are not ALWAYS reef safe either. The ones that people keep in reefs and usually get away with are pinktails, nigers, and blue throats. So no need to worry!

so far has caused no problems as far as being reef safe. I'd say my goal is to get maybe one more fish and then upgrade the lights...one way or another. once my lights have been upgraded i'm going to buy frags from the new LFS which is incredible on price and what they have in stock. He has a 125 full of frags for great prices so i'm gonna buy lots and lots of frags and let them start growing so when my 125 get set up i can fill it in with the corals i bought at a good price and has had time to grow.
