My tank so far

This is what my tank looks like with 25lbs of LR. I think that I might need to add another 15-20
. I still do not have a light, but I'm definitely leaning towards MHs. So what do you guys think?? Any info is greatly appreciated

The brand of sand is Caribsea and it was called Indo-Pacific black. It really caught my eye and so far I love it. i have a 34g Solana. I want MHs but my bf thinks that we will have to get a chiller if we go that route.

nah you probably won't need a chiller.. maybe a fan unit that blows across the surface.
how cool do you keep your place?

just mount the lights high enough that you wont need a chiller, and get the fans like rotary said. Find whatever desired height works best for your temp.
You should get a solana pendant. Im getting one as soon as my income tax comes in January. That'd look schweet over that tank.

And in terms of it all fitting, yeah it will. My best friend has close to 70 lbs crammed into her 29 biocube. she replaced all the bioballs with it and stuffed as much in the back of it as possible too. The more lr, the better, its a natural filter. What do you plan on stocking this tank with?

Welcome to the forum...

Just add more live rock...remember live rock is part of your aquariums filtration...
20lbs-30lbs more should be fine...

My place is usually 68F which I think is freezing, but that is how the bf likes it

Not sure yet, I'm very new to this. I really like frogspawn and other soft corals.

nice... no chiller necessary.. maybe not even a fan...
Sweet that's what I like to hear. All I have to do is probably remove my heater. Thanks for the help, I will post more pictures as soon as I get more LR.

you'll need the heater for night time. The temp will swing bad.

Ya I totally forgot about night
What type of light do you recommend? I was thinking a sunpod......
The solana light itself looks cool in my opinion.. I dunno... I would hang something over that nice tank before rest a fixture on it. Make sure you get a 150w light...

Get the solana metal halide pendant. It looks great with the tank and is 150 watts. It will be perfect for your tank. Nice STI by they way. Mine was white as well
