Hey, great start. I really wish now i would have done sand instead of cc. The cc is not causing any problems but as you can see in the picture is turns this beautiful green algae, maybe I am doing something wrong :notsure:
I use an incandescent hood, I am using 2 20 watt each coralife 50/50 10,000 k each power compact screw in lights. These are great lights for someone whom wants to keep very easy corals like mushrooms, zoos, polyps and I am testing my xenia with it and all seems quite well.
So depends on what you are wanting to keep depends on the type of lights you will need. My type of lights are for easy to keep corals.
Good luck to you, this is a fun hobby.

Yeah I think that for right now my 96w pc might be overkill at the moment. I haven't been able to secure any coral yet due to sudden school expenses lol. However I hope soon to get xenia and possible a cheap anenome sometime..most likely a rock.

Hi your light is not over kill. Alot of the nano people on this forum recommend the light you are using. It will give you a more wider range of things to keep with that type of light.
As for anemones, Bang Guy on this forum says that most of these corals get to big for a nano tank. You might want to do some homework before getting a anemone, they can be hard to keep also I have heard. Do some posting on the "reef" side and you will get alot of good answers there.

hey moray. I had my 96w pc over the same glass canopy for weeks and there was never any melting of the plastic flex piece. However i did aventualy opt to remove it. I simply pulled both pieces of glass away...was quite easy.

Yes i have xenia and no that is not aptasia. It is the poor mans anemone "mojano". Can't have the real thing so I settled for this before I new about it.
I have been watching it as it is splitting a bit more than I would like it to. But it is very easy to get off. When it becomes a nusiance out it goes. But my tomato clown just loves it for some reason.
