My Tank

Hi All. My tank and all of the critters are doing well. (Thanks to you). Here is what I want to do over the next few months. Please advise if this will be overstocked for a 50 gal: ps: I'll be doing this OVER TIME and only if levels are perfect.
add about 30 more lbs LR
add about 20 more lbs sand (or live sand)
add a good protein skimmer
add one or two gobies or blennies
add one flame angel
add a few more snails and maybe a c.c. star for clean-up
So the total livestock would be:
1 Purple Tang
1 Flame Angel
1 or 2 gobies
2 Percula (False) Clowns
2 Yellow-Tail Damsels
1 Serpent Star
1 Cleaner Shrimp
2 Pepperment Shrimp
7 Hermit Crabs (ranging in size)
Currently have 3 snails
Eventually I'll upgrade my lighting system and go into a few corals and MAYBE a blue star. But not for at least a year.
This is ALL I want to do. What do you think?
Please advise if this would be an overstocked tank. Thanks

personally, i think that would be pushing it a little, but possible, you would be kinda border line, for an ideal system, in other words, that is just over the max i would even attempt, i myself would think about the 2 gobies, OR the flame angel and see how that goes, and this providing that they are smaller gobies(not like a dragon which can get 14 inches, but like a ff which is 3 inch)

ummm............. you just reached the borderline! if u even add one more damsel or goby you're pushing it... otherwise you're tank will sound awesome

Hi Thanks for the replys. One I did not understand: Am I currently at the borderline? Am I at safe capacity now? I heard the response: goby or flame, but not both. I was thinking of a yellow watchman goby and a flame angel.... but I won't add anything if I'm at borderline now. (I'm not adding for a few months anyway... my tank is too young). As for the Purple Tang: she is young, but I do plan on giving her a good home when she outgrows my tank.
Again: Current load:
1 young purple tang
2 percula clowns
2 yellow-tail damsels
1 serpent star
1 cleaner shrimp
3 pepperment shrimp
7 hermits
3 snails
Thanks Again

Thanks Baron. I'll wait until I find the Purple Tang another home. My tank is cool as it is and it will take some time ($$$) to add the LR, a new protein skimmer and better lighting). I've been through the terrible cycle (with fish  ) and I don't care to make another mistake. (Everyone lived -- so far --- thank Gawd). You all are great.
Perhaps in a year or so I can have the Tang go to a more appropriate home. I don't know about the damsels yet. They are little devils. Maybe they will stay, maybe they will go. THEN have a flame angel and a yellow watchman goby.
Either way, you all have helped me make a good decision. NO MORE FISH! I'll enjoy my wonderful tank as is and add to equip, LR, etc. :)
I also need to learn a bit more about feeding. Although I've reduced it, I think I'm STILL overfeeding <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> because my nitites are not at zero... almost, but not at zero. I have to keep a close eye on the nitates as well. I think I have "tweek" it syndrome. I don't want to do anything to endanger my new found critters.

I'd keep all your fish, and consider the gobies. Dwarf angels are algae eaters like tangs, and their could be a scrap, upsetting everything in your tank. Plus, I can't recommend dwarf angels, because, I've never succeeded with them. I do relatively well with full blown angels tho.
