Nice looking tank  I hope mine will look like that someday soon.
Hey, I am having some problems with my mushroom. I have a single mushroom I got 2 days ago. It seems to be in the shape of an umbrella most of the time. Then it opens up a bit ( not like yours though) and it often will tilt in different positions. What am I doing wrong?
I have it up on the tallest rock which is just about half of the height of the 10 gal tank. It is not close to the light at all I don't think but I am new to this.
Should I be moving it to a different position?
My light is 20 watt mini compact fluorescent 50/50
all help greatly appreciated :help:

I find that mushrooms open bigger when they are on the sand bed or just further away from the light. I am no expert, but from what i know, mushrooms expand to create more surface area when there is less light... Try moving it further down in the tank or in a shady area and see what happens.

diddley,
Your last picture of a green looking thing, what is that?
I have one just like that and my LFS told me it was Colonial Anemone.

i wouldnt put it in a shaded area. that will cause it to reach for the light...like this one from skirrby:

debbie, just be patient. my mushrooms stay closed for a few days to a week or so after being moved. when i first got them it took them 2-3 weeks to open all the way up.

 I have the same problem with my mushrooms... Red mushrooms.. they are in a 29g about 3 inches from the top with a Coral Life 96w light... 2 powerhead 402's and a skilter 250 with extra airstone and pump, 45 pounds of LR, only use Red Sea Salt, and have Carrib Sand. They stay small, when I bought them they covered the rock completly now, just half of the rock.... my greentipped mushrooms are doing extremely well.... not a problem what so ever.
Any help would be appreciated!?!?!
