My three must haves ...

I have a 150g tank with 225lb live rock, 75g tank as refuge/sump. Here's my short list of must haves:
longnosed hawk
valentini puffer
BTA & mated pair of clownfish
Ok, don't know what type of clownfish I should get. I like the false percula.
Know knowing that I don't want to overload, and would rather have a few cute fish versus big showy fish what else could I mix in with these three?
Here are my thoughts for tank mates:
I've been looking at a diamond goby ... would he be big enough not to be hawk bait? What else would be good for the bottom of the tank?
Other thoughts:
How about a Cuban Hogfish?
How about a humu humu triggerfish? Too aggressive?
Flame angelfish?
And finally, how about a Harlequin tusk?
And, no, I'm not thinking about adding ALL of these... just maybe two.
I don't think that a mandarin would have a chance with these tank mates even after a year or so, do you? If not, I might be willing to do a tank just for one.
Please, please give me some input!!!
Thanks!

i know a mandarin needs a well established tank with lots of pods, both in the tank an in the fuge for food, in the fuge so they can keep on multiplying safely.
as for the clowns, have u thought about the black&white O. clowns? i know, i keep harpin on these guys, but they are my favorite clowns LOL

I would drop the hogfish, and the huma. Huma's are too unpredictable imo. I have had some very mild mannered huma's, but my current is very aggressive. I think the other two choices would be fine, and I think you have room for another....JMHO

Ok... how's this list.
Same tank parameters 150g, 225lb live rock, 75g sump w/ refuge (didn't get new tank overnight just moving info closer to list
)
Longnose hawk
valentini puffer
BTA w/ two clowns (I like the false perc & maroons but hear the maroons can get mean - don't want that with a small angel)
pygmy angel
diamond goby
lawnmower blenny
Harlequin tusk
Is this too much? I really want to be sure. I keep reading nightly & think they will go together. If so, then last thread on compatability.

And one final question, any inverts that I could keep with the above? I know the puffers eat snails & most inverts, hawks love shrimp, but what about emerald crabs or decorator crabs? Heck, I might do a smaller invert only tank in the future cause they're so cute too.
Thanks guys for sharing your experience & knowledge!!!!!

List looks good to me. I have a maroon clown. Spectacular fish in my opinion. Stunning colors...it is aggressive, but with limitation. I have mine in a 125, and it pretty much stays in one spot at all times. Does not really roam at all. It is aggressive when fish go into that spot, but they learned relatively quickly not to go there, so it is not really an issue at all. This is JME, but throwing it out there for what it's worth.

Ok, so my LFS has what I believe to be a mated pair of GSM. While I'm awaiting some input as to whether they are really mated or not (thanks SO much guys!!), I'm concerned that I might overload my system with my dream list.
150g, 225 lb of LR, 75g sump/refuge.
Longnose hawkfish
valentini puffer
midas blenny
mated pair of GSM w/ BTA
Those are my must haves - do you think I could add
some sort of sand shifting goby to help keep the bottom clean?
and a pygmy OR coral beauty angel?

Any opinions on which angel would be better? They both stay small, right?
I think that would be it for me.

Mainly fowlr ... I would like a few things that are hardy & won't be chewed to make the LR a bit more interesting. But I know with my stocklist it's a bit of a crapshoot.
I have eggcrate over the top of the tank. I've heard the longnose hawk and midas are jumpers.

hey Floridacatfish, i saw that you maybe wanted a Harlequin tusk they are a really cool looking fish and i am considering one as well, but i have read that they should not be kept in the same tank with any invert as they will most likely make a meal out of them. so be carefull if you get one to avoid inverts. Also I am fairly new to the hobby so if i read wrong feel free to correct me :) but i am pretty sure you should avoid both in the same tank.
