I just purchased the pro clear 150 and this thing is loud its driving the wife crazy and she says fix it or get rid of it. The noise is coming from the siphon tube in the back im sure this happens alot but that gurgling sound is becoming very annoying please help.

I have a pro clear 75 and mine is also loud, not too bad but it can be noticeable, I am still brainstorming on how to quiet it down, I'll let you know if I come up with anything ;) Cool little filters though mine seems to work great I have had it for a few months and no problems yet. There customer service is lacking though.

I am not familiar with that particular setup but have built (diy) external sumps/wet dry/refugiums for my tanks.
One of the best noise reducing things is called a durso So I would google durso standpipe until you find the durso site. The design basically "traps" in the water rushing, gurgling noise inside the pipe by insuring both ends of the pipe are underwater. And to insure good flow a small air hole is added to the drain so it can breath but still trap the noise.
So I recommend you review that, talk to whoever you bought the wet dry from. Obviously you shouldn't have to pay several hundred $s for noise. But perhaps there is an adjustment or setup that can quiet it down.

I recently made a wet/dry filter. It also makes a loud gurgling (obnoxious) noise from the siphon tube in the back. I saw someone on YouTube that used plastic ties and put them inside the back siphon tube. I just made a loop with the ties and rest them on the top of the siphon tube. It has helped the noise alot! It seems to break the suction of the water going down the tube---I know that discription is terrible, just not sure how to word it. Unfortunately it seems like every few days I have to adjust the ties a bit. It also seems like if you have any water evaporation at all from your DT the sound is much worse. I've been topping off the tank daily. I am definately going to look into the durso standpip but the ties were a quick, temporary, and cheap fix for me. Good Luck.

Let us know.
FWIW Durso's are easy enough to build from a few pieces of pvc from building supply stores.
