after the first day on the new stand, a compromise was reached it would have to be painted vise the oak stand I wanted to build:(

Up to today hope to be full of water by next saturday.
The equipment includes an ASM euro-reef style skimmer, 1 Iwaki 40RLXT, 1 Dolphin ampmaster 3000 (closed loop circulation), 2 blue line 400 watt metal halides W/ 10K blueline bulbs, 4 5' VHOs 2 blue 2 white, an Aquacontroller as the brain. Had to get a 2nd job at the LFS to be able to afford it.

It pretends to be reef safe but is very aggressive...

nice work!!
kind of new at building stands so i was wondering it looks as if you used 3/4 inch plywood for all of the support accept in the back where you used a 2x4 will that support 2000 lbs +?

nice tank!! have to agree with your wife having good taste, the accents really add to the over all look of the tank, wish my stand was that nice!:)

there is more braceing than just the 2X4 you see I added it later just didn't add the photo. thanks for the feed back it is appreciated.

radio I used 1X3 's for the sides and bottom and a 1x10 for the top Once again calling on my wife she drew the arches on the 1X10. I used a a matched rail and stile bit for putting the doors together. the center is just 1/4" ply. If you need any direct help e-mail me Srawrats25@aol.com.

It is 6' across the back and 5' across the front it is 28" tall and 28"deep it is an odd shape glass tank.

I have to say, it looks good. I think you might have started something, though. I need to fix mine up, and I need (want) a bigger one. I never should have read your post ;) Thanx a lot.

Yeah grumpy by a bigger one, then your wife can throw you out, my wife can throw me out, and we will live in our tanks, that would rock
