by my halloween hermit crab. note to self: when keeping hermit crabs, dont buy frags on on shells ,even if its a turbo snail shell you think is to big for any crabs in your tank, even if the stupid halloween hermit crab can barely move in the shell or lift it for that matter he will still try to house in it. lol!!!!

Wow thats a pain. I had one do that but to my armageddon zoos. He found it too hard to get around with 5 long polyps on the back and luckily gave it up the next day. By luckily, I mean lucky for him. He wasnt going to be in that shell either way the next day haha

Better that than a decorator crab that decides to decorate with your 3 most expensive zoa frags........... now he lives in the fudge wondering where the pretty zoa's went

i had a rock slide trying to get him unstuck .finally got him out (of the rock work not the shell).hoping he would give it up after two hours of restacking rock ,only to find him stuck in the same place when i got home today. thinkin thats where they both will stay. luckily it was only a $8.00 frag.

Hehe..had that happen once to me. I glued a frag to a large shell. I filled it with sand, so as not to get any hermits in it, and within hours my largest maroon hermit was trying to get the sand out. now I glue rocks inside the shells so no hermit tries that trick again.

Your crab is just doing you a favor as all zoas seem to like some water flowing over them (not a torrent). Your crab just came up with a cool way to give the zoas both water movement and different lighting conditions!

In your third picture, what is that leggy thing in front of the shell? Bristleworm?

*S* if you do buy a frag in a hermit style shell break the spiral out of the center so they cant use it. this will keep them from wearing your zoas, though I hear its the IN thing with yourng hermits and urchins to wear stylish frags......

I filled the cavity with putty. While the putty was still wet I placed it on a rock. Looked awesome! Well at least till I dropped a rock on it and broke the shell. 3 weeks later ALL of the zoas moved off the shell and onto a rock. I didnt think they would. Ended up taking the shell pieces and the putty off the rock.

i kind of used the same concept but instead of placing it on a rock i strategically placed it on the crab .can you imagine where it will spread to from there.
seriously i should have thought it out, my crabs are always up sizing .
