Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has noticed skin lesions on their hands form handling their aquariums.
I have a 12gal nano with some mushroom corals, polyps, and a few zoos. One damsel, one cb shrimp.
I usually wear gloves whenever I do anything with the tank, but there were a few times that I was vacuming that I didnt.
Anyway, about a week ago I devoloped some red blister like lesions on my right hand finger tips and on my cuticles ( below fingernails).
Went to a dermatologist and found I have Mycobacterium marinum bacteria in my skin.
so now I'm on antibiotics, hopefully this will clear up.
I cant stress enough how important it is that you protect you hands with this hobby, there are numerous bacteria and toxins that can harm you.
