nano and red serpent

Hi earlier tonight I got about 50 lb of LR from this guy in my area and when I put it into my tank I noticed a bit of red on this crevise in a particularley large piece of rock. I looked at it a bit more closely and I am 99% it is a red serpent star. I got the rock for my 12 g nano cube. can I keep the star in there or is that to small. he seems to be about 6 inch across. He also appears to have lost a leg. that is one of the ways that I identified him because the break was white. If I have to get rid of him I have no idea as to how I am going to pry him out.

ripped off? what? No.
I did not use all 50 lb. I could only get it at that price if I took it all and he was just going to throw it away anyway. I simply took all of the live stuff that I could off the peices that I did not want to use and put them on the peices that i did use. I got it all for 10 bucks. the star was a bonus. However I have already given him to someone with a hundred gallon tank.
