Just ordered a Current USA 1/15 hp chiller to go with my 24 g. JBJ so I dont have to blast the air all summer again and ---- my bank account. Just wondering who uses them, adn are there any suggestions to get the flow rate correct right away, what powerheads (if you have some specifically, otherwise I have some good ideas) I will need to buy to fit in the tank as well as have the correct flow, tubing and so on. Let me know the things I have not thought of other than it will make my life easier. I'll keep you updated how its going.
Thanks

Hey Reefer,
I am still new at this salt water thing although I am pretty versed in fresh water tanks. Cant offer any help on the chiller situation my lighting doesnt get my water temp that warm and my tank resides in my basement. Although its a finished basement the temp really never gets about 70 down there in the summer. I also dont have HQI lights on my tank yet. I have the BioCube 29G and I use a Rio 800 PH800 Power head to add extra circulation to my tank. Took me a while to get the right direction where it doesnt clear my sand away and circulates well. I am also making a splitter for the jet that comes from the back of the tank too. I figure the more flow the better the filtration. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I already bought the Current USA model. I got a GREAT price on it BNIB.
Flow definately increases the optimality of filtration. Don't forget though, you only want your water to be turned over in your tank 10 to 20 times in an hour. I am sure you know that though. I use a powerhead in my 24 g that adds a 106gph to the existing 290 gph stock powerhead. 396/24= 16.5 times per hour.
I have done a bit more research though, and I believe that I will be o.k. with the stock powerhead. Anybody out there wanna give experienced advice?
Thanks

I got the JBJ Nano artica about a month ago and the thing is awsome. I have a 24 nanocube which heats up to the low 80's like nothing when the lights are on. This chiller cools it down to 76 in about 10 to 15min.
Also the thing is so quiet you can't even tell it's on. It is in my living room and everything.
It sounds like you have already bought one but if anything ever happens or if anybody is currently looking for a chiller I would recomend the JBJ.

Thanks. Good to know. What powerheads did you have to buy in order to get it running at the right flow rate? I am just trying to plan so I do not have to worry about it messing up my tank.
Thanks
