Nano Ideas??

Ok so, my gf and I realized that a "normal" reef tank would be WAAAAY out of our budget, so we've started talking about a microreef tank. That's about as far as we got lol. Any suggestions for products etc to research/buy?? We don't really know where to go from here....

We're no where near buying materials, just trying to research/budget out what is needed. I think we're looking at the 20-30gal range, leaning towards a bowfront design.
On a seperate note, what materials can you use to make an artificial background like I've seen in a few people's tanks?? I'm sort of experienced at this with Anurans (frogs/toads) (see my Oriental Fire Belly Toad Tank pics below)

I know you can't really tell from those, I'll get some better ones tomorrow as the tank is in "night mode" and the moon light is on right now lol

well if ur looking at a 20-30 gallon and u want it as a reef u first should look at wat it takes to care for coral.
but as ur looking for a tank i can help u out a little, u need a good light no matter wat coral u want try to aim for better light and if u get Metal halide light u will deff be happy and growing anything in ur tank will be fabulous.
well if u want to save some money look into getting some kind of nano bc u can save money when u get it all together gets a little expensive when u buy everything separate.
there are many threads here of people starting nano's me included so feel free to look up threads and read them from the beginning ur deff goin to learn alot in that way.
