Hey ya'll
Yesterday I got bored and decided to retro fit an eclipse tank to look fully stock at first yet really be a much larger system with over flows sump /fuge, skimmer, and high pc lighting.
We are making a rock out of Portland cement and aragonite this will fit the perfect shape of the tank and when done look fully fitted with no wasted space. There will be shelves and all for the corals as well as spot feeding tubes build right into the rock. this will all be seeded with live rock and sand from our main system.
The first pic's are of the tank. I drilled the tank and fitted it with two bulk heads. Inlet and outlet. The flow on the tank is run by a mag pump giving me about 25 times turn over.
The sump will be a 10 gallon tank and the fuge will also be 10 gallons. All of this will be under a table I am building that will hide everything in the corner between out two couches. All that will show is the 6 gallon eclipse tank.
I fully gutted the hood to fit a dual pc lighting unit. As well as three moon lights.
In the sump will be an aqua c skimmer and an emperor 400 filter. I will have a variety of macros in the fuge and live and in the sump. I will post pics over the weekend as I do more.
Here are the pics of what I have done so far as of yesterday when we decided to do it and tonight. the rock in there now is just rubble from the main display sump that i tossed in just to displace water for a test run

this is the main rock we are making. in order . we build in levels packing in areas we want things like caves with sand until it drys and then we build more until we have a shape we like. this is two steps into the process. we have one more layer to do .

looking good. yea i get bored sometimes. lol i got bored so i started a sea horse tank. 10gal. then i got 4 horses and got bored. so now im setting up a 29gal for them. got it drilled and goin to hook a 10gal sump, fuge on it. i got pretty much everything i need from when i had it set up last time.(switched to bigger tank.) so all i need to buy is more rock and sand, skimmer. but thats a good idea to have a one piece rock. i dont think it would work well in a big tank, but looks good in urs.

yea for our large reef that would ever work. need to be able to move stuff around let alone the fact that it would have to be huge and very heave. but in a 6 gallon tank i think it will work great
